Attention all Pirate coaches or any Pirates members aspiring to be a coach.We are proud to announce that we have arranged 3 FREE coach the coaches sessions run by our very own Pirate parent Johnny Gaynor. Johnny is known as one of Australia’s best coaches and has over 40 years of experience as a player and coach at both state and national levels, he was also awarded the title of “Australian Coach of the year 2010”. It is a blessing to have Johnny’s knowledge around the club so please take advantage of this opportunity and do everything you can to make it along to these sessions.
The committee are determined to make sure all of our coaches are confident, knowledgeable and enthusiastic in the approach that they take to coaching our players and believe that with these programs and our continued support behind them will make a massive difference to all of our players experience and development. These sessions will not give you accreditation but will prepare you for that next step should you wish to take it. We believe that after attending these sessions our coaches will all be far more confident and knowledgeable when teaching hitting and fielding mechanics and running specific training drills to target certain skills.
The first session will be held this Friday night (31st August) at Corbin reserve 6 – 8pm and the second on the following Friday night (7th September) at 6 – 8pm. We will then asses when to hold the third session once all coaches have been coaching for a few weeks so we can then recap what has already been done along with addressing any questions or queries the coaches have now that they are fully into the season.
